Managing Director, Corporate Affairs, American Airlines
Bill Hood is Managing Director, State & Community Affairs for American Airlines handling state and local government matters in the eastern United States. He is responsible for relations with state and local government authorities and community organizations as they relate to airline regulation, airport operations and general business matters. Bill’s efforts are concentrated in Illinois, New York, Massachusetts and Washington, DC.
Prior to working for American Airlines, Bill worked as a lawyer and later managed the municipal bond investment banking division for Continental Bank in Chicago. Bill has also been on the staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Aging. He serves on the boards of numerous cultural and social service organizations. He started his career as a journalist, and has won several awards for investigative journalism.
Bill is a graduate of Illinois College in Jacksonville and Northwestern University Law School. He and his wife, Vicki, live in Chicago. They have two adult sons.
