Sue Gin

Chairman, Flying Food Fare, Inc.

Legendary entrepreneur Sue Gin is founder and CEO of Chicago-based Flying Food Group (FFG), an internationally known, privately owned company she established in 1983 to provide passenger meals to a single domestic carrier at Chicago’s Midway Airport. As FFG quickly expanded to O’Hare International Airport and added international airline catering customers, Sue forged a still-ongoing partnership with Air France catering arm, Servair. Today, she is one of the first women—and the first non-French citizen—to serve on Servair’s board. FFG currently services over 55 leading airline customers—primarily international—from its 17 US kitchens and one in Shanghai, China. The company’s growing retail division—which Sue created in 1996 to increase market potential —produces private label packaged foods for leading retail partners, including Trader Joe’s and over 4000 US Starbucks cafes. Sano Parfaits—FFG’s first direct retail product—is a sundae-style yogurt parfait available at US supermarkets and convenience stores. Sano is expanding its retail product line.

Sue is also founder and president of New Management, Ltd., a successful real estate leasing, management and development firm with extensive holdings throughout the Chicago area.

Sue is on the boards of Exelon and Commonwealth Edison. In 2010, Sue was named to the board of The Foundation for the National Archives, Washington, D.C. She has long served on the boards of Chicago’s DePaul University, The Field Museum, Chicago Botanical Gardens and Rush University Medical Center.
