Tri-State Alliance for Regional Development

The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce commissioned The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development “OECD” to conduct a groundbreaking economic analysis of the Tri-State Chicago Metropolitan Region, including geographical areas of the States of Wisconsin and Indiana. The OECD has completed these valuable Territorial Reviews all around the world and we are proud that this study, of our Region, is the first of its kind in the United States.

The OECD is an intergovernmental organization with a mission of helping governments tackle the economic, social and governance challenges of a global economy. Insights gained through this OECD Territorial Review can play an important role in developing an agenda designed to maximize the Tri-State Region’s assets and overcome obstacles to maintaining and increasing our economic position. This internationally recognized study evaluates our economic competitiveness, attractiveness and sustainability relative to other U.S. and international cities, as well as assess the effectiveness of policies that have been put in place to further these goals.

The Chicago Tri-State Metropolitan Area Territorial Review was released on March 9, 2012. Subsequently, the Tri State Alliance for Regional Development is being launched to create and execute an implementation plan for the Review’s recommendations. More information on the Alliance, its members, meetings and events will be posted here.
