From the President’s Desk: Global Initiatives Redesigned
Chicago is a global city. Not only are we home to more than 1,800 foreign-based companies and $100 billion in foreign direct investment – but Chicago-based companies have a strong presence abroad with more than 8,000 locations across 170 countries and territories.
The Chicagoland Chamber provides a gateway between local and international corporations through programs and services that cultivate connections, education and discussion. We have conducted surveys to learn where you, our members, are currently doing business, where you want to do business, what you want to learn and how the Chamber should offer these services. We have redesigned our global initiatives to reflect these interests.
Our international programs feature a range of events to facilitate connections and offer both our members as well as the international community opportunities to learn about timely and important issues impacting global business such as Brexit, TTIP, TPP and other trade agreements, how to do business in a specific country, and insight into a region’s geopolitical and economic outlook.
Engage with others at our networking and educational events:
Explore new international business opportunities – for example:
- Japanese company Nine Sigma is seeking to connect with local Chicago businesses to distribute, sell and also partner in the development of technology. Please contact Blanca Berthier at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on their target needs.
We invite you to explore the opportunities that the world has to offer by attending our international events, utilizing our services and resources, and becoming active on our Global Connections Forum.
