From the President’s Desk: 5th Annual Tyree Award – A Call for Entries
I’m thrilled to share with you today an exciting opportunity for our local business community. If you’re a Chicagoland entrepreneur or small business owner leading a fast-growing company that is actively involved in local philanthropic and community efforts, you should apply for the 2016 James Tyree Emerging Business Leadership Award.
Why? In its fifth year, the 2016 Tyree Award has been doubled to $50,000 courtesy of Mesirow Financial and The Privatebank.
Just ask past winners. Local healthy restaurant chain Protein Bar won the award in 2012, and has since expanded across the nation. ÄKTA, the digital design company that won in 2014, has since been named to the Inc. 500 list and acquired by Salesforce. The 2015 award recipient – Beverly brewpub Horse Thief Hollow – recently announced major expansion plans.
Just think about what you can do for your business – and your community – with this prestigious award.
The application period runs now through March 21. The online application can be found here. For more information or to watch the video, visit www.chicagolandchamber.org/JamesTyreeAward.
If the Tyree Award does not necessarily apply to you or your business, please share this opportunity with your network. After all, the award was created to recognize and encourage our local entrepreneurs and small businesses to continue to embrace their local communities and create jobs for the Chicagoland region.
