From the President’s Desk:
Happy 2017! With the New Year comes renewed optimism for the Chicagoland business community and I would like you to know that we are here and ready to serve you.
Following a successful and busy 2016, we have plans to engage with Chicago’s businesses regardless of your size, location, industry or affinity. The foundation of our region’s economic strength is the diversity of our economy and we embrace the opportunity to engage with all of you. Here are a few of the exciting programs and events for you to attend and enjoy:
Our third annual Small Business Reception: Celebrating Chicago’s Entrepreneurial Community takes place in January. Thanks to all the business owners who participated in the Chicagoland Small Business Outlook Survey, we are able to provide more accurate information and statistics about what small businesses really need, and develop relevant services and programs that respond to those challenges.
The generous sponsorship and vision of BDO, Edelman, and DLA Piper brings you more events in the Pro-Business Pro-Chicago series including a special conversation with Richard Edelman in February. We are happy to continue this theme of promoting Chicago as a place for mid-sized businesses to locate, grow, and create jobs.
Our Emerging Leaders Chicago program got off to a great re-boot in 2016 and has planned several great events and experiences in 2017. We look forward to a special networking evening with our Board of Directors and Emerging Leaders in February.
Please join us for our third annual PAC Advocacy Champion Award Luncheon on February 24 at the Hyatt Regency. This year’s honoree is Bob Crawford, founder of Brook Furniture Rental, a true advocate of the entrepreneurial spirit the Chamber advances every day. Our PAC is a critical component of the Chamber’s policy efforts. Your ticket purchase will put you or anyone at your table in a drawing for 2 Southwest Airlines round-trip airline tickets.

Let’s make 2017 a great year for business!
