The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce’s newest initiative, Mid-Market Chicago is designed to create a business-friendly environment for the middle market through programs, customized education, cultivation of networks, and research in partnership with the National Center for the Middle Market.
What is the Middle Market?
The National Center for the Middle Market defines mid-market as a firm with sizeable annual revenues, ranging from $10 million to $1 billion.
About Mid-Market Chicago
Launched in 2016, Mid-Market Chicago is a program that focuses on growing and supporting middle market companies (defined as $10mil - $1bil in annual revenue) across the Chicagoland region through educational programming, networking events, and other resources.
According to a 2017 survey by the Chicagoland Chamber and the National Center for the Middle Market, this segment of the region’s business community is a workhorse for jobs and economic vitality. It comprises just 1.5% of all Chicago-region companies, yet provides jobs to 26% of the region’s private sector employees, and generates 22% of all business revenue in the region. The survey shows strong 2017 growth in jobs and revenue, and an outlook for additional growth in 2018.
We’re excited to partner with our 2019 sponsors to provide impactful programming to Chicago’s middle-market companies!
