The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce salutes members Alera Group and Cresco Labs for being named among Chicago’s 50 fastest-growing companies by Crain’s Chicago Business.

Founded in 2016, Deerfield-based Alera Group has quickly become a national insurance and financial services leader and grown to over 4,200 employees with 2023 revenue of $1,307.5 million.

Cresco Labs, established in 2013, has emerged as a trailblazer in the rapidly evolving cannabis industry. With nearly 2,500 employees and 2023 revenue of $770.9 million, Cresco has become the largest vertically integrated multistate cannabis operators in the United States.

Jason Erkes, Chief Communications Officer for Cresco, noted the significance of this achievement: “Being recognized as one of Chicago’s fastest growing companies — in one of the country’s fastest-growing consumer goods industries for the third consecutive year — is a huge honor and one that our entire team is proud of. As the leading cannabis company in Illinois, we continue our efforts to normalize the cannabis retail experience through our Sunnyside stores and to build brands that resonate with consumers across the country.”

This recognition from Crain’s Chicago Business underscores the vital role both Alera Group and Cresco Labs play in our city’s vibrant business ecosystem. Their success not only contributes to Chicago’s economic growth but also reinforces our city’s reputation as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce commends both Alera Group and Cresco Labs for their outstanding performance and their commitment to excellence. The Chamber is proud to have them as part of Chicago’s business community and looks forward to watching their continued success in the years to come.
