This weekend marks the return of the award-winning NASCAR Chicago Street Race, which will bring zooming cars, cranked-up guitars, and much more to Chicago on July 6-7.

The event, which was named “Sports Event of the Year” by Sports Business Journal, promises to be an exhilarating blend of high-speed action and urban environs, creating a landmark event for racing enthusiasts and city dwellers alike.

Saturday morning kicks off with practice and qualifying sessions, as well as musical performances, all leading up to the main event: The Loop 110, a thrilling 50-lap race in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series that runs through Chicago’s beautiful downtown. The incredible musical lineup includes the House Music 40 Showcase, Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy, The Black Keys, and The Chainsmokers.

On Sunday, race goers can look forward to performances by Lauren Alaina and Keith Urban, along with the highly anticipated Grant Park 165, a 75-lap race in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Insider Tips for the Savvy NASCAR Fan

But beyond that info, here are a few tips that only the wise insiders will know. For starters, don’t sit on the ground — if you purchased a General Admission ticket, you can bring a collapsible chair with you to enjoy concerts and racing. (See more of the policies here.)

Also, some of the Chicago Street Race drivers — including Kyle Busch, Bubba Wallace, and Cole Custer, the winner of last year’s Xfinity Series race — will be doing live Q&As at the event. Find out when and where here.

Lastly, NASCAR has created a mobile app for the event, and you can download it here. The app features include interactive map with directions, weekend schedules, and the ability to listen in to teams during the race.
