Chicagoland Chamber testifies on proposed Cook County budget
The Chamber is encouraged that President Stroger has proposed a 2009 budget that contains no new or increased taxes or fees. These are the most uncertain of economic times for businesses in Illinois and across the country. We have all read the reports of layoffs in the private sector for several months and this trend is expected to continue well into 2009. Our members could not withstand any proposal that adds to their economic burden and we are very appreciative that the 2009 budget proposal does not contain any new or increased taxes or fees. - (12/19/2008)
